On Saturday, October 28, 2017 the Down Syndrome Association of Tallahassee (DSAT) will host our community's 12th Annual Buddy Walk and Family Fun Day in celebration of Down Syndrome Awareness Month. Families, friends and advocates will enjoy festivities at Southwood Town Center and participate in the 1-mile advocacy walk to promote the acceptance and inclusion of people with Down syndrome. In addition, funds will be raised to help support local programs, as well as national education, research and advocacy efforts.
The Buddy Walk was started by the National Down Syndrome Society in New York City to promote the understanding of people with Down syndrome. Each year, our local Buddy Walk helps to spread the message that our loved ones with Down syndrome possess a wide range of abilities and are active participants in our community.
It is our hope that you will consider supporting the Buddy Walk as a sponsor. Your contribution will directly allow people with Down syndrome to make steps toward a brighter tomorrow. Please find the proposed sponsor application and benefits attached. If you are able to participate this year, we ask that you confirm your sponsorship commitment at your earliest convenience. Financial contributions can be made any time prior to December 31, 2017, but we must have commitments by August 4th in order to print this year's promotional material.
Thank you very much for your consideration. It would be our honor to partner with you in an effort to improve the quality of life for people with Down syndrome. If you have any questions or need additional information, please email Dana Rainey at ExecutiveDirector@dsatallahassee.com.
